So I have been feeling VERY artsy lately and I absolutely LOVE it!!
Im usually so busy with work and other random crap going on OR Im so stressed out from both of those things that when I sit down and TRY to draw something or even doodle something small, either nothing comes to me or whatever Im trying to draw doesnt turn out right. Being able to sit at my desk, plug my headphones into my laptop, turn on Pandora and be able to just let whatever comes to mind flow out onto the paper in front of me via pen or pencil FEELS SSOOO GOOD!! XD
I bought acrylic paint and a few small canvases to experiment with. My sister does amazing things with paint and its inspired me to try it out for myself. So far Ive only done two paintings that turned out a bit more childish than I had originally planned but my mom and sister both liked them so Ill take that as meaning that Im not THAT bad at it.
I do enjoy using paint but it is something that Im definitely going to have to really apply myself to and really work at it and learn it. Using a pen/pencil and any paper I can get my hands on is what Im WAY more used to but I want to go outside my box and try something totally different and new. Definitely looking forward to the challenge of it. >: ) Bring it on!!!
Recently I purchased a book called Wreck This Journal. Its kind of a destructive yet helpful book. Its supposed to open your mind up to being more wreckless with your creativity and help you be able to find inspiration in anything that you happen to come across. A few of the things it prompts you to do WITH the journal make me grit my teeth and cry a little on the inside because I am VERY anal about the condition of all of the books that I have. Example: Tie a string to the book, go for a walk, drag the book on the ground.
Example 2: Rub the book on a very dirty car/truck.
Things like that make me want to run in the opposite direction and keep the book clean. BUT I am going to grin and bear it and Im hoping that the end results show through in my creativity and drawings and artwork. This experiment shall be interesting. x>.<x *fingers crossed*
